The halal industry in Indonesia is witnessing rapid growth, fueled by the increasing number of startups offering innovative solutions to meet the diverse needs of halal lifestyles. In a significant move to support this burgeoning sector, the **Halal Super Angels (HASAN) Demo Day Jakarta 2024** is being held to provide a platform for halal startups to showcase their innovations and capture the interest of local and international investors.
Organized by HASAN Venture Capital & Accelerator (HASAN.VC) in partnership with the Indonesian Fintech Sharia Association (AFSI), the National Committee on Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS), and Bank Indonesia (BI), the event underscores the commitment to strengthening the startup ecosystem and addressing the global challenges faced by the halal industry.
“We hope this event can attract local and foreign investors and inspire the birth of more innovators in the halal sector,” stated Umar Munshi, Managing Partner of HASAN.VC, during a press conference held on Wednesday.
The event features 18 innovative halal startups from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, each presenting creative solutions aligned with the evolving demands of halal lifestyles. These startups encompass a wide range of innovations, from animation and advertising studios to artificial intelligence-based Quran learning applications, technology-driven takaful aggregators, and specialized applications catering to individuals with disabilities.
Ronald Yusuf Wijaya, Chairman of AFSI, emphasized the vital role that his association has played in connecting halal startups with potential investors. “We hope investors will participate more actively to increase funding for halal startups and support the growth and innovation of halal ecosystems,” he remarked.
Ronald further highlighted that these innovations not only resonate with current market trends but also align with Indonesia’s national strategy and vision to become the global center of the Islamic economy. He also underscored the importance of collaboration between government bodies, industry players, and startups in driving the development of the halal industry in Indonesia.
“The HASAN Demo Day 2024 illustrates the tremendous potential of halal startups in Indonesia, demonstrating their readiness to compete on a global scale,” Ronald added.
The event aims to fortify the halal startup ecosystem in Indonesia, enabling it to compete internationally. Through synergistic collaboration among governments, industry leaders, and investors, the halal industry is poised to continue its growth trajectory and make significant contributions to the national economy.
This event not only serves as a showcase for groundbreaking innovation but also marks a crucial milestone in driving growth and fostering innovation within the halal sector.
