Economic News, Jakarta – HASAN.VC, part of the Ethis Group, has announced that applications are now open for Cohort 002 of its Accelerator Program. This seven-week online program, beginning on January 6, is designed to support early-stage halal and ethical startup founders.
Following the success of its first cohort—which involved 42 startups and resulted in funding for 12 of them—HASAN.VC is once again offering ambitious startup founders the opportunity to expand in Southeast Asia, a high-growth region.
The HASAN.VC Accelerator provides a comprehensive support package for early-stage startups. Selected startups can access up to US$60,000 in pre-seed funding, receive mentorship from top coaches and successful Muslim founders, and connect with a network of over 500 angel investors. They will also benefit from being part of a community of like-minded founders, access a partner database of over 60 million Muslims, and explore government funding matching opportunities.
Aimed at addressing the unique challenges faced by startup founders in Southeast Asia’s high-growth markets, the Accelerator empowers entrepreneurs with tailored guidance and resources to grow their businesses. This program has already helped launch innovative startups like Synbiozymes, Reyhut Automation, and GoBarakah.
“Our goal with our Accelerator program is to continue fostering a founder-centric ecosystem where entrepreneurs can thrive. We are committed to supporting diverse founders, especially Muslim and female entrepreneurs, who have historically been overlooked in traditional venture capital spaces,” said Umar Munshi, Managing Partner of HASAN.VC and Group MD of Ethis.
“This accelerator is more than just funding—it’s about creating a community where founders help one another succeed, share knowledge, and collaborate to drive innovation for Halal and ethical businesses.”
“This program was built for founders by founders. We want to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses and succeed, surrounded by a supportive community that understands their unique challenges. And we’re particularly focused on helping Southeast Asian startups scale their impact both locally and globally,” said Mohd Akhtaar, Principal at HASAN.VC.
“We’re seeing a shift toward a more ethical and purpose-driven business environment in Southeast Asia, and this is an incredible opportunity for startups in the Halal economy to thrive,” added Mohd Akhtaar. “This is a movement to change the face of entrepreneurship, and we’re looking for the next wave of visionary founders who want to build businesses that are not only profitable but also socially responsible and aligned with Halal values.”
The HASAN.VC Accelerator will select the top 10 startups in each cohort to receive funding in exchange for equity. Each selected startup will also receive ongoing support, biannual evaluations, and exposure to institutional and angel investors.
