Halal Super Angels (HASAN) Demo Day Jakarta 2024: Supporting Global Halal Industry Innovation

Jakarta, Indonesia – Halal Super Angels (HASAN) Demo Day Jakarta 2024 is set to bolster the startup ecosystem by presenting creative solutions that address the challenges facing the global halal industry.

Organized by HASAN Venture Capital & Accelerator (HASAN VC) in collaboration with the Indonesian Sharia Fintech Association (AFSI), the National Committee on Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS), and Bank Indonesia (BI), the event underscores the commitment to advancing the halal startup landscape in Indonesia.

Umar Munshi, Managing Partner at HASAN VC, expressed his optimism for the event’s impact on the industry. “We hope this event serves as a catalyst for the growth of the halal industry, attracting both domestic and international investors, and inspiring the emergence of more innovators in the halal sector,” he stated at a press conference for the HASAN Startup Demo Day Jakarta 2024 on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

AFSI Chairman Ronald Yusuf Wijaya emphasized the importance of the event in connecting halal startups with potential investors. “We aim to introduce halal startups to investors through this platform. We hope that investors will become more actively involved, significantly increasing capital injections for halal startups, which in turn will support growth and innovation within the halal ecosystem,” he said.

The 2024 Jakarta Startup Demo Day will showcase 18 pioneering halal startups from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. These startups offer a wide range of innovations tailored to meet the unique needs of the halal lifestyle, including animation and advertising studios, AI-powered Quran learning applications, technology-driven takaful aggregators, and specialized applications for people with disabilities.

Ronald noted that these innovations are not only aligned with current market trends but also support Indonesia’s national strategy and vision of becoming the global center of the sharia economy.

Collaboration among government bodies, industry players, and startups is crucial in advancing the halal industry in Indonesia. “The 2024 Demo Day has demonstrated that Indonesia’s halal startups possess immense potential to compete on a global scale,” Ronald concluded.
